Why Missions?
Don’t people have needs right where I live?

Yes, there are needs everywhere - Jesus said the poor will always be among us. If you are already serving the Lord where you are - always have a willing and listening heart if the Lord should say, "Whom shall I send?" (Isaiah 6:8). The Body of Christ around the world is one body, one Church, united by one Spirit. God knows His plan for each person - we get on track with His perfect plan for us when we enter into a personal relationship with Him through accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior and as the Lord of our life (Rom 10:9-13). (If you haven’t yet done that - ask Him into your life right now and let the adventure begin!)

Ephesians 2:10 says that "we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Beth Moore calls this a "distinguishable work". And again - 1 Cor 12:18 says, "But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be." All we have to know is that God created us with potential, for a purpose -  and mix that with our life experience and that leads to our destiny " which in His sovereignty and for the fullness of our joy" can take us anywhere on the planet!

"I was involved in part-time ministry at my church while working in corporate America - and sensed a call into full-time ministry around 2001. I had first come to Jamaica on a short-term mission trip with my church in 1998 - on my 4th mission trip to Jamaica, for the opening and dedication of the TCJ women’s home in Ocho Rios - the Lord spoke to me and said this is where I would start full-time ministry. His will be done - He knows what He’s doing all we have to do is enjoy the adventure and let Him continue to shape the vessel of our life for His Kingdom purposes - that souls should be saved and His Church should be ready for His return!"  (Karissa McCarter, former Exec Dir of TCJ)

How?

Talk to your Pastor about sending a mission team from your church.

Is God calling YOU to do a short-term mission assignment?

Perhaps God is calling you to long-term missionary service?

Here are some current projects for mission teams:

Besides construction, we always welcome ministry and street outreach teams.

Construction and development of our third floor: banquet area, work area for our training phase, offices and     conference room. Needs: tiling, carpentry, electrical, roofing.

Our building needs a fresh paint job! The building takes a beating from the sun and tropical rains. The home is a 2-story, 9,000 sq ft building - that’s a lot of paint and a lot of hands to put it on.

Even though our home has been in operation since 2001, it has never really been "finished" do you have an eye for detail and the "finishing touches"? Needs: rendering (the masonry coating on cement block walls), painting, landscaping.
